All Scholarships

The Artist Bill Fischer Foundation for Working Artists Fund was established to provide educational scholarships to working artists in Kentucky.  Recipients may use the scholarship for art courses, but not for art supplies, materials or equipment.  Multiple scholarships are available at a minimum of $500.00. 

The Brandon Ray Tong Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Brandon Tong, a senior at St. Francis DeSales High School, who in the fall of 2003 died as a result of an automobile accident.  One scholarship will be awarded each year for $1,000.00.

The Brice Simpson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor Lt. Brice Simpson.  This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors from Jefferson County Public Schools active in a JROTC Unit.

The C.L. Smith Scholarship Fund was established to honor Lieutenant Colonel Clarence L. Smith USMC (Ret.).  He was instrumental in founding the Marine Corps Junior ROTC program at Fern Creek High School in Louisville, KY.  This scholarship has been created to encourage and rewards those who exemplify his same qualities and values.  The award is a minimum of $500.00 and is not renewable.

Mr. & Mrs. Watson taught in McLean County, Kentucky for many years and left a bequest to establish a scholarship fund to help educate the needy in their county.  The number and amount of scholarships granted will depend upon the funds available for awards.

The David Brown Vocal Music Scholarship Fund was established by the duPont Manual High School faculty, staff, students and their families in recognition and honor of Mr. Brown's retirement.  Mr. Brown was the vocal teacher and founding choir director at the Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS) for 23 years.   This fund provides scholarship assistance to graduating seniors from duPont Manual High School who are members of the YPAS Concert Choir.  The amount of the award is dependent upon funds available, and is not renewable.

The Denise Fleck Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her family to honor a courageous woman dedicated to the prevention and intervention of tobacco use by teens.  This scholarship was established to help defray college or university expenses of students who are actively involved in community service activities for the prevention and intervention of tobacco use by their peers.  This scholarship is for up to $1,000.00 and is not renewable.

The Dunaway Scholarship Fund was established by Samuel M. Dunaway to provide educational grants to graduating seniors from any high school located in Breckenridge, Butler, Edmonson, Grayson, Hancock and Ohio counties in Kentucky.  This scholarship is based on financial need and recipients will be selected on their determination and ability to successfully complete the degree and/or education program he/she is enrolled in.  The annual scholarship amount will equal full tuition at the institution selected by the recipient, up to a maximum of $6,000.00 per year.

The Eastern High School Class of 1955 Scholarship Fund is designed to provide scholarship assistance to help defray college and university expenses of graduating seniors from Eastern High School in Louisville, Kentucky.  This scholarship is for up to $2,500.00 and is not renewable.

The Edward E. & Beverley H. McDonald Scholarship was established to provide scholarship assistance to graduating seniors from Bryan Station High School or Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY; or any high school located in Jessamine County, KY.  One scholarship is awarded annually for up to $1,000.00 to a student that demonstrates employment experience and financial need, and has maintained a cumulative 2.0 GPA.

The Garland & Thelma May Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students from Mercer County, Kentucky.  Grants can be used for educational expenses at any grade level, and may be used for any course of study that will advance the recipient's skills or educational level.  Multiple awards are available each year for up to $1,000.00.

The HL Lyons III Memorial Scholarship Fund provides assistance to help defray expenses for vocational and/or technical post-secondary educational courses or other such training that would assist recipients sustain or expand their employability by learning new technical skills or trades.  Applicants must have experience working in a technical trade, vocation or manufacturing job; or a demonstrated aptitude for a technical trade and/or vocation.  One scholarship will be awarded annually for up to $1,000.00.

The Harriet Poynter Scholarship Fund provides assistance each year to a graduating senior who is of African-American heritage from Shelby County High School, Kentucky.

The Helen "Heidi" Badgett Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to re-entry adults who are returning to college after a period away from school or students graduating high school or college seeking to further their academic, professional or career training.  This scholarship is for any field of study for students to attend a community college, technical or vocational school, or four-year accredited college or university.  Multiple awards are available each year to applicants with limited financial means who have a strong desire to further their education and demonstrate sufficient academic promise to complete their course of study.

The Jennifer Zimlich Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to assist a graduating Assumption High School (Louisville, KY) seniors who enjoy the visual arts, especially photography.  Applicants must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA and be enrolled to attend an accredited college, university or junior college.

The Kute Family Scholarship Fund was established to provide an opportunity to non-traditional, female students to pursue a college education.  Applicants must be a resident of Jefferson County, Kentucky and enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in the Louisville area.  One scholarship will be awarded each year for $1,000.00.

The Leon & Helen Ennis Scholarship Fund was established to annually support one graduating high school student, college/university student, or returning adult who is a member (or the child of a member) of Youngers Creek Baptist Church. 

The Louisville Advertising Education Foundation Scholarship is awarded annually to students majoring in advertising related programs at Louisville area colleges or universities.

The Margaret and Lee Thomas Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to residents of Jefferson County, Kentucky who are attending or planning to attend undergraduate programs at an accredited college or university.  This scholarship is for up to $1,000.00 and may be renewed for a maximum of four consecutive years.

The Mary Belle Bloch Scholarship Fund is designed to assist a graduating high school female from Louisville Collegiate School who has demonstrated dedication and competence in the natural sciences and intends to continue science studies in college.  One scholarship is awarded each year for $500.00.

The MG Benjamin J. Butler "Century Division" Scholarship Fund was established for graduating high school seniors or high school graduates who is an active, retired or former member of the US Army 100th Infantry Division or any of its successor designations, including, but not limited to, the 100th Division (training) or its successor designations or be a direct lineal descendant of one of the forgoing individuals. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, financial need, and demonstrate qualities of good citizenship and patriotism.  Multiple awards are available each year for up to $1,000.00.

The Percy White Memorial Scholarship Fund is based on character, citizenship and academic potential.  One award for up to $2,000.00 will be made annually.

The Rachel Caroline Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to support one senior, female field-hockey athlete from DuPont Manual High School each year.  The award is for up to $1,000.00 and is not renewable.

The Rubbertown-Shively Class Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 by EI DuPont de Numours & Co., Inc. and DuPont Performance Elastomers, LLC as the result of a class action legal settlement. This fund provides scholarship assistance for persons who reside at an address located within a two-mile radius centered at 4200 Camp Ground Road, Louisville, KY - the local plant of EI DuPont de Nemours & Co. 

The Students for Success Scholarship Fund was established specifically to address the need in the Owensboro community to increase the rate of completed Bachelor's degrees among its residents.  Applicants must be a resident of Daviess County, Kentucky who have a minimum of an Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours and are pursuing a Bachelor's degree.

The Thaddeus Colson and Isabelle Saalwaechter Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide assistance to an upcoming female sophomore, junior or senior who is majoring in an environmentally related program at an accredited Kentucky college or university.

The VOGT Achievement Scholarship was established by Henry V. Heuser to award a $10,000 scholarship annually to one graduating senior at each Jefferson County public high school.

The W Norris Duvall Scholarship Fund was established to help residents of southern Kentucky attend Lindsey Wilson College.  Multiple awards are available each year in various amounts.
